How to open Bak Files
The File extension bak is used by the following type(s):
Backup files
Common and mostly used .bak files type it is a copy
The BAK File extension is for a long time used for backup files. Generally .bak files are a backup copy of an original file.
When there is some action, the backup renames the original extension to .bak. Then, it does some steps. Finally the .bak files are renamed back.
So, to restore original file, rename file to its original extension, if you know it, that is.
Similar names and formats are .old or .orig
