How to open Bak File

File extension bak is used by following file type(s):

Backup file - common and mostly used .bak file type it is a copy
The BAK File extension is for a long time used for backup files. Generally .bak file is a backup copy of an original file.

When there is some action, the backup renames the original extension to .bak. Then, it does some steps. Finally the .bak file is renamed back.

So, to restore original file, rename file to its original extension, if you know it, that is.

Similar names and formats are .old or .orig

The backup process is very important to keep a copy of your files. There is no point in convert these files.
